Twilight Dementia

Lost In A Great Book --- well, five of them actually ...

Since finding a little bit of spare time to catch up on reading, I decided to pick up this young adult fictional series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians.  I purchased the lot a while back, intending to read it before the movie (that I unfortunately did not catch in the theater) was available on DVD.  The other day, I made it a point to at least complete the first book, The Lightning Thief, and was pleasantly surprised.  I mean it is a kid's book, but how very entertaining it was!!!  I am off to dive into Sea of Monsters as soon as I get off the internet.  That's really all.

About the Imogen Heap Concert ...

So we went to Immi's concert on Saturday at the Warner theater in DC.  Wow!  It really absolutely blew me away!  It was a two hour set, and I still wanted more at the end of it.  I loved loved loved it!!!  BUt I am not really going to recount everything because I just want it to stew in my head for a while.  If I could, I would follow the rest of her US tour.

Both Johnny and I left there feeling inspired.  Hopefully, we can pull off a show as fantastic as hers ...

Imogen Heap Concert in DC ...

Yay!!!  I thought she wasn't going to stop by this area, BUT I'm glad she booked the Warner Theater.  So yes, May 29, we are SO there!!!   I'm a huge Immi fan, and am really really really excited ... And being that John and I haven't gone to a concert since Dylan in 2008 (Atlantic City --- which was a lot of fun), we are both itching to go.  Now we just have to find a babysitter ... Any takers? heehee ...

Everything Falling Into Place

A sign from Fate?  All this week, we've got a drummer, I've got my new toys for the stage, Johnny's injured amplifier is back from the shop, AND it looks like we're all going to make it to rehearsal on Saturday!  Weeee!!!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this keeps going the right direction.  I really can't wait for us to be able to let go of the clutch and go full throttle.

Quest's Got Talent Contest 2010

I did it, and got second place, for performing Imogen Heap's "Just for Now" piece ---  yes, with looper and all.  I didn't videotape it myself, but I believe there is footage floating around somewhere --- and I will post it when I find one.  I had to adhere to the rules and do the piece in 3-4 minutes, so I cut out one of the choruses and a verse.  I wish I didn't because some contenders went long without reprimand.  It would have made it more satisfying.  All in all, though, I was proud of myself.  I would like to think I did it enough justice to make Ms. Heap proud.

But next year I am really going to have fun with it, and do Phantom of the Opera --- both parts and the shrieking in the end. hahaha.  Stay tuned ...

Drummer Auditions

Yup ... Still going.  We were set back last week by a nasty bout of stomach sickies, but everyone is back to normal these days.  Game back on ...
